So you think you can dance? Well the First Lady of the U.S. sure does! Michelle Obama shows how nothing can hold her back when it comes to dancing.
On their visit to India, U.S. President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama were unlike any other political figures. The students of Holy Name High School, Mumbai were in for a pleasant surprise. They urged Michelle to join them in a Marathi Folk dance. The Koli song of the fishermen community, triggered the dancer in her and then there was no looking back.
She gracefully accompanied the little dancers who were dressed in traditional attire and flawlessly performed the steps. When Obama jokingly complained about being left out, the boys tugged him to the floor too. Dressed black trousers, matching tie and a white shirt, he looked no less of a gentleman and a good sport.
The President was very happy with the science exhibition set up by the students and lovingly chatted and clicked photographs. Watch this amazing video of the President and the First Lady!
Michelle Obama Marathi Dance was not the end. You can also catch Michelle dancing to Uptown Funk at The Ellen Show with Ellen Degeneres earlier this year! She challenged Ellen for a dance-off and it was amazing. Do check out her program ‘Let’s move‘ to help people to lead a healthier life.
They also celebrated Diwali at the White House with the President lighting the ceremonial Diya in 2009. He became the first U.S. President to celebrate the festival of Dipawali marking the camaraderie between nations.
We wish The President and the First Lady visit India again.
