On Friday morning, the assailants entered the home and handcuffed the nuns only to shoot them in the head, point blank. Among them, a Kerela nun and a priest are still missing and are thought to have survived the ordeal but they still haven’t been reached to. The home at the southern port city of Aden was built by Mother Teresa back in 1992 and currently houses around 60 poverty-stricken elderlies. External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj earlier tweeted and has urged Indians residing in “Danger Zones” to return back home. She said that the nuns were advised to return back but they ignored it.

It is suspected that the gunmen belong to the Islamic State group of Yemen but till now none of the terrorist organizations have come forward to own up to the massacre.

What possible reason could they have had to attack the sisters? They were risking their lives to serve the old and poor. Instead of respect and honour they were shot in the head. There was no mercy for the kind and merciful. Mother Teresa has been let down.
