The famous American singer, songwriter and actress Mandy Moore, on her latest India visit, is delighted with the splendid recipes of Bihar. The singer and actress is most popular for her films, “ A walk to Remember”, “Tangled” and “ License to Wed”. She landed on Patna on the 5th of September. Her India visit definitely had a purpose; to support NGO Population Services International (PSI) and India’s Gender Based Violence Programme Project Wajood (GVB).
However, she goes on to taste some of the Indian cuisines during her stay to which she comments “yum” to Bihar’s delicacy. Yes, Mandy Moore says ‘Yum’ to Litti Chokha. Feeling inspired by a group of women, Moore tweeted “ Yum! Sampling the ultimate Bihari delicacy: #littichokha #Patna#Bihar#loveindia.”
In her tweet, she also mentions about the warmth she had received from the Bihar Government. She had come to educate and inspire Indian women to buy and make use of toilets keeping in mind the health and hygiene of the society. She points that girls must grow up in cleanliness and should be the same way even after they get married. Her next visit was at Lucknow, where the actress and singer was thrilled to see steps taken by the government to develop and improve the family planning products and services for the lower sections of the society. The actress joined PSI in the year 2008 as an ambassador for child survival programmes. Since then she has played an active role in raising voice for violence against women and girl child.
