And, we got to know a very interesting thing – Section 295A. This section of Indian Penal Code under which Kiku was booked for 14 days of judicial custody is like a hall pass, under which you can get as offended as you want and shove offensive miscreants into jail. Hurray!

Kiku mimicked Dera Sacha Sauda chief on a show, Jashn-e-Umeed and was held in Kaithal, Haryana on 31 December, under the complaint of a certain follower named Uday Singh. Uday Singh felt his sentiments were hurt and Kiku deserved to go to jail.

Zee TV held the show in which Kiku performed, however, the channel was nowhere to be seen when Kiku needed support. This is the video that got him into trouble. Would I be jailed if I said it is funny?

But the gentleman that Kiku is, he apologized. He felt that unknowingly he might have hurt sentiments and he tweeted this.

After a lot of confusion, we saw the Dera chief tweet this. He said he had no complaints against Kiku since he has apologized.

Later, Kiku was released on bail but to be re-arrested on his way to Delhi as another case was registered against him in Fatehabad. Manohar Lal Khattar, Haryana Chief Minister,  said that the state government had nothing to do with the arrest. If the government can’t do anything about arrests then who does? Funny godmen? Soon, #IAmWithKikuSharda floated all over social network and people stood in support of the comedian. Have a look at the most popular ones.

Many more reacted towards the arrest but the AWARD for the best reaction goes to Arnab Goswami from Newshour Debate. The guy who is infamous for not letting others speak has made the ultimate ode to freedom of expression and how! Arnab living the THUG LIFE!

If actors and comedians got arrested every time they made fun of someone then there would be no space left in the jails. Can you possibly count the number of times Kapil has made fun of stars who came on his show? Remember the roast of Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor by AIB? They also have been facing charges for offensive someone.

We understand there is a fine line between humor and hurting but India needs to grow up and have a sense of humor, especially when Kiku apologized. When the country is blazing under riots and people are being killed; authorities are more interested in who made fun of whom!? You decide and let us know in the comments below. Share you support for Kiku and we shall forward them. Let him know that we care.
